In the highlands of Huro Tibiro, at the heart of Sidama, around 200 smallholder farmers cultivate organic, sugar-rich coffee cherries on tiny plots of just one to two hectares. The region’s fertile clay soils, ideal climate, and elevations near 2,000 meters provide the perfect conditions for exceptional coffee.

The cherries are delivered to Solomon Hamiso’s washing station in Kurmane, where they’re first sorted by density, then meticulously hand-sorted on raised beds. Drying takes place slowly under the Ethiopian sun until each cherry reaches its ideal moisture level. Guided by Solomon’s expertise and the dedication of the local farming community, this natural lot captures the distinctive character of West Sidama—vibrant, sweet, and unmistakably expressive of its origin.
